Kristjan Vassil (University of Tartu)


Kristjan Vassil is a research fellow at the Institute of Government and Politics, University of Tartu. He holds a PhD in political science from the European University Institute in Florence. His thesis focused on the effect of information and communication technologies on voting behaviour.


Kristjan has researched and published on the impact of ICT-solutions on voting behaviour and individual attitudes using a variety of statistical techniques. More specifically, his work has focused on internet voting, voting advice applications (VAA) and online political participation. Kristjan is one of the leading investigators in e-voting studies conducted in Estonia since 2005. He has conducted several field experiments in Estonia and Italy.
