Skype and Information Technology
Foundation for Education (HITSA) program Study IT in Estonia announce a
scholarship competition for outstanding graduate students in IT
disciplines. The scholarship fund is 52 000 euros and applications can
be submitted until 21 September.
Skype
and Study IT in Estonia postgraduate scholarship provides support to
outstanding students enrolled in the Master’s programs of Cyber Security
and Computer and Systems Engineering at the Tallinn University of
Technology and in Computer Science and Software Engineering at the
University of Tartu.
"By
offering the most attractive scholarship in Estonian higher IT education
we support the studies of even stronger and more motivated master’s
students in computer science and information technology disciplines in
Estonia. This scholarship has had a significant impact on the
educational path of highly talented local youth," said HITSA Study IT in
Estonia Program Manager Marily Hendrikson. Skype and Study IT in
Estonia Master’s scholarship has been used to support 29 students since
2013.
The scholarship fund
for the academic year 2015/2016 is 52 000 euros and eight scholarships
will be provided. The amount of one scholarship is 6500 euros per
academic year and it is intended to cover the costs of the upcoming
academic year. Application is open to all students who have been
accepted to corresponding master's programs. The candidate must study
full-time and his or her weighted average grade must be higher than 3.5.
The
deadline for applications is 21 September 2015. The selection of
scholarship recipients will take place in two stages and the scholarship
recipients will be announced on 5 October 2015.

Study
IT in Estonia is a cooperation program of the state of Estonia, the
universities and the ICT sector run by the Information Technology
Foundation for Education. The aim of HITSA is to support IT education
and implement state of the art technology in educational institutions of
all levels providing them with modern information systems, and ensuring
preparation of highly qualified ICT specialists.
